Alba was found in a terrible state, almost starving and having never known love from humans. Niall brought her back to his house and vowed to do everything he could to make her better. He fed her, gave her love, got her medication, and every morning, showed her the new sunrise that she’d made it to.
Alba sadly didn’t make it, her body was just too weak. But she had 14 beautiful mornings where she knew what love and comfort was. And her life wasn’t in vain. The team built “Alba’s Kitchen” in her name to feed 1250 dogs on Koh Samui, vowing that no dog would need to feel hunger like Alba felt.

While most street dogs who need medical attention can be back with their packs within the day, some need more serious medical attention.
These are the dogs who come to stay at our sanctuary at Happy Doggo Land. Dogs who have been hit by cars, who have been badly abused, or even need to lose some weight, come to us for care and rehabilitation. Often, they’re able to go back and live their lives normally but sometimes they’re rehomed. In this case, they stay with us until they’re ready to travel.
