Week One started as one of our hardest yet. A local owner brought us his dog, Stormzy, who'd been hit by a car. He'd been told the only option was to put him to sleep, but he couldn't even afford that. After three heartbreaking days of waiting for Stormzy to pass at home, he found us.
Honestly, we weren't sure he'd make it. He had massive head trauma. But our vet at Tina's Hospital said there was a chance. So, we started meds, drips, and round-the-clock care. As the week went on, this little fighter got better and better. His neck straightened, he started eating, and then... his tail wagged. It was just a tiny movement, but it was everything. He was fighting back.

We were blown away by his progress. After another week of meds, love, and small exercises, Stormzy did the unimaginable: he stood on his own four paws!
Then, he gave a little tail wag and leaned in for a gentle face lick. Dogs just know when they're safe.
Just days earlier, this boy had no power in his body. Now, he was taking his first wobbly steps. He’s like a determined toddler—he stumbles and topples but never gives up. He still gets tired very quickly, but his eyes are clearing up and that tail won't stop wagging. What a comeback!

By week three, we knew Stormzy's recovery would be a marathon, not a sprint. We had a heartfelt chat with his lovely owner, and he agreed the best thing for Stormzy was to stay with us for the long-term rehab he needs. (We're also helping him sterilize the other dogs in his area!)
Stormzy is still a long way from adoption, but he's getting stronger every day. This week, he mastered steps and even managed a little run! To see him bouncing in the jungle made us all very emotional.
He still has wobbles, gets tired, and sometimes walks in circles, but he tries so hard. Three weeks ago, he was given no hope. Today, he's proving everyone wrong.
