The community fundraiser that raised over $16,000 for street dogs in Thailand

For anyone that follows us online, you’ll know we're all about sharing stories of rescue and transformation. But behind the scenes, making so much of that magic happen, is our fantastic team!

Most of you will know Meghan as our Lead Videographer, the one who makes the beautiful videos that bring you joy and sometimes a few tears. In May, Meghan alongside her friend Ellie, took on the huge adventure of the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge. They committed to walking an impressive 100-kilometers non-stop, all to shine a light on the Happy Doggo mission.

The big walk supporting Happy Doggo

This wasn't just a stroll in the park, it was a 100-kilometer walk trekking over 24hrs with no sleep. At the 58-kilometer mark, the challenge really kicked in, leading to Meghan having to spend two hours in the medical tent. Sadly, Ellie's journey was cut short due to an injury, which made getting going again even harder for Meghan. After a little rest, a pep talk, and some fuel, she was back on her feet, ready to tackle the remaining kilometers.

As if the distance wasn't enough, the unpredictable UK weather decided to join the challenge too. Meghan walked through wind and rain all night, only to be greeted by scorching sunshine during what had to be the toughest part: the South Downs hills leading into Brighton.

100km community fundraiser complete!

At 29 hours and 55 minutes, with virtually no rest, Meghan crossed the 100-kilometer finish line.

By completing this epic challenge, Meghan and Ellie have raised over £12,000 ($16,000)!

This incredible amount will go directly towards helping Happy Doggo continue our vital work improving the lives of thousands of street dogs in Thailand. Every single donation helps provide life-saving sterilization, nutritious food, and essential medical care.
